No obstacle too big at Intersec 2008
With Intersec 2008’s primary focus on safety and security, nothing could hinder the exhibition in being a success including unprecedented rain down pour, an unscheduled public holiday and corridor off roads due to a certain president’s visit to the region. One of the thirteen country pavilions at Intersec, The Austrian Pavilion was contracted to Pico International (Dubai). As meticulous planners, Pico usually starts working with their clients 6 months prior to every exhibition. In contrast to our normal method of operation, this project was executed in total of two months. With time as an obstacle, Pico proved once again its capabilities by still delivering the pavilion at exceptional high quality standards. The Austrian Pavilion management commented that they were very impressed with Pico’s work and according to them the build up was excellent and the staff assisting them was friendly and competent. “Pico is a fair-contractor we can recommend” was just one of the positive feedback statements Pico received from Architect Gabor Fettik.
In addition to the Austrian Pavilion, Pico was also responsible for many other stands including the special design stand of Joo Detectomat. Using the corporate colours, white and red, the stand gratified the client as it attracted many visitors to their stand. The success of the exhibitions has lead to the growth of Intersec Thailand and Intersec is perceive as an essential security show and is set to grow further in coming years.

Utilising primarily white panels, light boxes, plants and medical equipment, this futuristic modern stand gave visitors the impression of a medical facility in harmony with nature and technology. The stand’s impression on visitors and exhibitors has been very positive for Mubadala, reaffirming Mubadala’s role in the medical industry for the region.
Another longstanding Pico client at the Arab Health 2008 was the Korean Pavilion. Pico was fortunate to service another longstanding client, the Korean Pavilion at Arab Health 2008. In addition to these clients, we also serviced the China Pavilion and Bode Chemie a leading specialists for disinfection, hygiene and skin protection, to name but a few. TDIM Debut in Dubai
Competing against giants in your industry should not leave exhibitors in despair as B&G Hotels and Resorts recently found out, when the Egyptian based firm participated at the debut Tourism Development and Investment Market show (TDIM). The group who is eager to expand in to the United Arab Emirates opted to rather occupy a smaller exhibition space and use the reminder of their budget on the stand itself. Enlisting the services of global events marketing organisation, Pico, the approach was to display the B&G stand as premium and luxurious brand, gaining B&G a favourable position within their target market. Pico’s design team conceptualise a space with wooden floors resembling a deck on water with lots of green further reminiscent of a lakefront. Predominantly using light colours, the stand has a very soft welcoming ambience. By further utilising a contrasting dark wooden frame with aluminous light box with the company logo, the aesthetically pleasing stand naturally drew awareness from the shows visitors. Achieving a higher return on their investment, B&G are exceedingly pleased with their strategy to spend more of their resources on the stand itself and not the space of the stand. The group has already confirmed that they will be reusing the same stand at ATM and other prestigious Travel and Tourism shows in the 2008 calendar.

Pico’s versatility at Gulf Traffic
With so many others to compete with, exhibitors have realised that their stands play a crucial role in reaching visitors at exhibitions. Gulf Traffic, a show dedicated to address the headache that is UAE traffic, had 3M Gulf and Siemens in adjunct spaces aiming to communicate their services and solutions to their respective possible clients. Both firms contracted this challenging objective to Pico Dubai and it was amazing to witness that the only noticeable similarity for the two stands was the quality of the stands. The concepts and wow factor of both stands were completely contrasting, proving Pico’s versatility and ability to provide every client with an original concept. Official Sponsor 3M Gulf’s intriguing stand implemented a traffic theme with clever inclusion of a road features, traffic lights and projection screen displaying their latest range of innovative products. In contrast to the playful 3M Gulf stand, the Siemens stand on request from the client, effectively captured the strong corporate image, through a classic design and immaculate finishing. It perfectly aligned with this company’s highly reputable brand. Both stands received large amount of praise and achieved great success in reaching their particular target market.
